Raymond G. Brodahl, 91, of Greensburg, died suddenly Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
He was born on July 30, 1924 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of the late Walter Louis and Annabelle Brodahl. Ray was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Delmont. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in electrical engineering while in the Navy. He served for four years as a Lieutenant in Pearl Harbor and aboard the USS Gilliam and the USS LST 171. Following his service, he attended and received a Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University. Ray was employed by Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a patent attorney for 35 years.
He was a member of the Delmont Lion's Club, the BSA council, Sigma Nu Fraternity, Tau Beta Pi Honorary Engineering Fraternity, and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He enjoyed his retirement in Florida for twenty years of golfing, boating and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard, and a sister, Betty Funk, brother-in-law, Robert Forman and daughter-in-law, Pastor Debbie Brodahl.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patsy, and three sons, John (Janet) of Greensburg, PA, Tom (Laurie) of Fort Wayne, IN, and Dan (Patrice) of Huffman, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren Wendy O'Brien (Casey), Christy Makdad (Michael), Matthew Brodahl (Elizabeth), Mark Brodahl (Melissa), Katelyn Law (Brian), Rita Brodahl and Scott Brodahl. Ray was blessed with ten great-grandchildren Faith, Audrey, Dean, Gavin, Grant, Grace, Lily, Rhett, June and Eleanor. Also surviving is brother-in-law, Clifford Simpson, and sisters-in-law, Joanne Forman and Modeska Simpson and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2pm to 5pm, Sunday, December 27 at KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.
A service celebrating Ray's life will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 28 at 11am with Reverend Dr. Ronald Raptosh officiating followed by burial at Eastview Union Cemetery in Delmont.
