Raymond L. Johnston 66 of Greensburg died Sunday 9/22/2013 in the Excela Westmoreland Hospital. He was born in Latrobe on 12/29/1946 and was the son of the late Dale and Ruth Johnston.
He graduated from the California State Teachers College with a master's degree in education.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Ray was a retired teacher with 32 years of service with the Greensburg Salem School District. He was a member of the GSEA, PSEA and the NEA.
Ray was a loving, devoted husband and father. He was a compassionate, dedicated teacher. Ray had a positive influence on all those he knew. Our lives were enriched for having known and loved this special man.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Richard (Dick) Johnston and his father and mother in law Florist and Sophia Bertoluzzi.
He is survived by his loving wife Lynn Bertoluzzi Johnston and children Ross M. Johnston and wife Toni Bartone of Pittsburgh and Rachael S. Johnston of Greensburg , a brother James W. (Cathy) Johnston of Ligonier, sisters-in-lawKaren (Herm) Lagally of Greensburg, Pam (Jerry) Endsley of Co., Hollis (Jim) Ulaky of N.C. Brothers-in-law Keith (Mary Jean) Bertoluzzi of Portersville and Rick (Joan) Bertoluzzi of Co.
Family and friends will be received at the Kepple- Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main St. Greensburg on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10 am with Rev. David Clemente officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donation to one's favorite charity.
