Rhoma Kunkle Fatur of Greensburg, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, July 10th, 2012 at Emeritus of Latrobe. She was surrounded by her loving husband, their three children and the wonderful caregivers of Emeritus.
Rhoma was born on December 3rd, 1930 as the only child of George and Gladys Kunkle.
Following graduation from Penn Township High School, she worked as an Administrative Secretary for Investors Diversified Services in Pittsburgh. She met A. Paul Fatur, originally of Delmont, on a blind date in February of 1951 and they married in December of that same year. After a holiday ceremony, the two of them enjoyed a Southern Honeymoon prior to Paul going overseas during the Korean War.
Rhoma was a dedicated mother to Karen Lynn, James Paul, and Kenneth Jay. She was also intimately involved in each of their activities including horseback riding and ice hockey.
When not participating or fundraising for one of her children's activities, Rhoma loved to get away to their cabin in the Laurel Highlands and volunteer at Laurel Hills State Park in Trent, PA. In all of her activities, Rhoma had a profound impact on people and developed many lasting friendships that blossomed as a result.
Rhoma is survived by her husband of 60+ years, her three children and their spouses and her four grandchildren.
Family and Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main St. Greensburg on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday at 10:30am in the funeral home.
Graveside services will follow in the Denmark Manor Cemetery.
