Richard A. "Rich" Bombach, 65, of Greensburg, passed away, Friday, December 11, 2009 in UPMC Shadyside. Rich was born July 2, 1944 in Johnstown a son of the late Anthony and Mary Liska Bombach. Rich was a retired maintenance engineer having worked for the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. He was a member of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, Greensburg where he was a member of the church council and choir. He also belonged to the NRA and the Youngwood Sportsmen's Club. He is survived by his wife Ann (Person) Bombach; a daughter, Cynthia A. "Cindy" Helzel of Greensburg; a son, Richard A. "Rick" Bombach and wife Chrissy of Jeannette; two grandsons, Alexander Helzel and Jacob Bombach. three brothers, Ronald Bombach (Kay) of Greensburg; Regis Bombach (Ruth) Youngwood; Randy Bombach (Linda) of West Newton; two sisters, Shirley Henry (James) of Kennerdell, Pa; and Sandra Eisaman (Donald) of Greensburg; numerous nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law & sister in law, Rev. James Person (Marian) of Harrisburg. Family and friends are being received in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St. Greensburg on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Tuesday from 10-11 am in Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, Hempfield Twp. where services will be held at 11 am with Rev. John M. Smaligo and Rev. Robert Free co-officiating. Interment will follow in Harrold Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Terence L. Graft, funeral director, in charge of arrangements.
