Robert E. "Bob" Albert, 89, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. He was born April 29, 1923, in Greensburg, the son of the late TD "Ham" and Anna R. Albert.
Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed as a driver by Motor Freight Express for more than 25 years and delivered daily to many local businesses. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army as a driver in the chemical unit in the Pacific. Bob was known for his love of all things car, especially MOPAR. He was a member of the Carl Leroy McKelvey American Legion Post 472 in Manor.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lillian (Bolko) Albert; a son, Robert L. "Bob" Albert and his wife, Michele, of Harrison City, and their two daughters, Stephanie and Devon; a daughter, Leigh Santo and her husband, Pete, of Harrison City, and their son, Jake; a daughter, Lesley Ficarri and her husband, Pete, of Hopkinton, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, with a private funeral service on Tuesday.
