Robert E. Chappell

Robert E. Chappell, 84 of Greensburg, passed away, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at St. Anne Home.

He was born February 6, 1939 in Irwin, a son of the late George and Mildred (Arthurs) Chappell.

Robert mostly lived in Jeannette and Greensburg and was a Navy veteran. He was a member and past president of Twin Lakes Fish Association. Bob worked at Jeannette Glass for many years and prior to retirement, worked at Victory Security. The job he was best well known for was tow truck driver. He worked for various companies over the years, also servicing AAA. There are many stories of his tow truck driving, some earning him the nickname of MacGyver. He will also be remembered as an avid fisherman and for his love of woodworking.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Dorff) Chappell; his daughter, Denise Marie; his brothers, George and Jack Chappell; and his sisters, Alice Wilde, Ruth Cecconello, Pearl Minsky, and Mary Trautwine. He was the last of his siblings.

Surviving are his children, Robert Lee Chappell and wife, Tina, Kathleen Fedornak and husband, Jim, and William Chappell and wife, Jodi; grandchildren, Ashley Chappell, Jake Chappell (Anastasia), Joshua Chappell (Jacqueline), Nathan Fedornak,and Chelsea Snyder (Eric), several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob's family would like to extended a special thank you to Bob's caretakers at St. Anne Home for their great care and friendship during his time there. 

Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8pm on Friday, October 6th at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, October 7th at 11am.

Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park.
