Robert W. Gilson, 77 of Penn Township, died peacefully, April 30, 2012 with his beloved family by his side. He was born, May 30, 1934 in Chicago, IL, son of the late Mary (Snider) Gilson and Carl Gilson.
Bob received his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and his Masters in Systems Management from University of Southern California. He was a US Air Force Navigator, who served in Vietnam and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He also retired after 20 years from Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a brother, Perry Gilson. He will be missed and survived by his loving family; his wife of 55 years, Beverly, son Robert Jr., daughter, Sharla Gilson and her partner James McGee and his 'other kid' Debby Svec,; also his brother Harold Gilson and his wife, Virginia, nephews Steve and his wife, Cathy, Raymond and his wife, Sharon, niece Linda and husband Dave. Also numerous great nephews and nieces and many friends.
Family and Friends will be received at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main St. Greensburg on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM and on Thursday from 10 am till time of service at 11 am with Rev. Martin Ankrum officaiting.
Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park.
