Robert Manson

October 14, 1925 — January 6, 2015

Robert N. Manson, 89, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born in Hickory and was a son of the late John R. and Ethel W. Manson. Bob was a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College and received his master's degree at Pitt University. He had served in the Army during World War II. Prior to retirement, he taught Biology at Bethel Park High School for more than 30 years. Bob was a member of Christ Church in Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and brother-in-laws, Esther M. (Jack) Sigler and Janet M. (Ted) Sill. Surviving is his wife, Ruth W. Manson; three children, Ralph (Carol) Manson, David Manson and Mary M. (David) Patton; and four grandchildren, Krista (Rashawn) Walker, Jamie (Dustin) Arthurs, Robert Patton and Jennifer Patton. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Christ Church, 145 N. Main St., Greensburg, with the Most Rev. Robert Wm. Duncan officiating. Private interment will be held in Homewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Church, 122 N. Maple Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601 or Redstone Highland's Benevolent Care Fund, 6 Garden Center Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.
