Ronald Dale Morris, 79, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, July, 4, 2013, at home, as a result of a blood disorder.
Ron worked as a milkman at Westland Dairy for 20 years and as a driver for Charley Brothers/Super-Valu for another 20, retiring 16 years ago.
In his lifetime, he was a softball player, golfer, hunter, camper and avid Rummikub player, which he played with his grandchildren. He was a longtime deacon at the Hempfield Church of Christ, where he served in the benevolence ministry for 40 years with wife, Alice.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Domasky Morris, of Greensburg; daughter, Rhonda Covert and her husband, Craig, of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Ted Morris and his wife, Lori, of Latrobe; and five grandchildren, Janelle and husband, Britt Easter, Chad and wife, Kelly Covert, Krista Covert and Alex and Kaitlin Morris; sisters, Ida Mae Baker, Dorothy Boggs, Lois Prinkey Clark and Donna Porterfield; sister-in-law, Clara Morris; and brothers, Jack Morris and wife, Mary, Robert Morris and wife, Agnes, Richard Morris and wife, Eleanor, and Charles Morris and wife, Anne. He was preceded in death by sisters, Viola Morris, Helen McGinnis, Margaret Wilson Kesslar and Ruth Love; and brother, William Morris.
He will be deeply missed and remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, adored grandfather, youngest boy of 14 siblings, cheery neighbor, popular coworker and dedicated Christian. His hallmarks were his quick wit, sunny outlook, warm smile, big laugh and generous heart.
Family and friends will be received 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 North Main St., Greensburg. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Hempfield Church of Christ, Greensburg. A private burial will be held in Twin Valley Memorial Park.
