Russell E. Woodward, 86 of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Loyalhanna Care Center in Latrobe.

He was born November 3, 1924 and was the son of the late Daniel H. and Margaret (Plischke) Woodward.

Russell was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Youngwood and was the former owner of Woodward Foundries Inc. and Woodward Refuse Inc. of Greensburg.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Ewing and Mary Margaret Ernette and brothers Arthur , Daniel , Robert , and Ronald Woodward.

Russell is survived by his loving wife, Donna May Woodward, his children Jerry Woodward and wife Nancy of Greensburg, Kathy and husband Rudy Sambolich of Latrobe, his grandchildren Tracy and husband Jay Struble of Latrobe, Jessica and husband Tim Weaver of Greensburg, Shawn and wife Lisa Sambolich of Derry, Karrie and husband Daryl Sebring of New Alexandria and great-grandchildren, Josh, Johnny, and Jayden Struble, Kyle and Abby Weaver, Troy Sebring and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother in law, Earl May and wife Veronica of Rural Valley.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 1 to 5 pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. (There will be no visitation with the family on Monday)

Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9;30 am till the time of services at 10 am in the Christ United Methodist Church, 100 Lincoln Avenue, Youngwood with Pastor Chris Livermore officiating. (Everyone please go directly to the church on Tuesday). Interment will follow at Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
