Ruthe Doris Schwartz Kassel, 91 formerly of Syracuse N.Y. died on Jan.12,2015 in the Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Twp.
She was born in Syracuse, NY on 11/10/1923 and was the daughter of the late Percival Schwartz and Florence Schwartz Andrews.
Ruthe was a retired employee of Syracuse University .
Surviving are her children Barry Kassel and wife Sheila of Greensburg and Rana Kassel and husband Richard Thomasy of Issaquah, Wa., three grandchildren Josh Kassel and wife Maddy of Fort Campbell, Ky., Jessica Kassel of San Francisco, Ca. and Hannah Thomasy of Seattle, Wash., and her half brother William Andrews and wife Vicki of New York. .
Honoring Ruthe's wishes there will be no public visitation and her memorial service for the family will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westmoreland Manor Memorial Fund, 2480 So. Grande Blvd. Greensburg, Pa. 15601.
