Sarah P. Giron, 88, of South Greensburg, died, Sunday, January 3, 2021, in Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe. She was born on April 24, 1932 in New Stanton, a daughter of the late Frank E. and Caroline Anderson Poorman. Sarah was employed as a nurse at Westmoreland Hospital before retiring to take care of her family. She was a member of South Greensburg United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, starting with the junior high and then ending teaching the adult class. She also was the former church financial secretary and head of missions. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. Sarah studied and knew her Bible well and was devoted to the Lord. She was the last surviving member of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Giron; grandson, Matthew Giron; her siblings, Franklin, Delbert, Elizabeth, Marie, Ruth, Nancy, George, Don and Tom; also, 3 nephews. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Musa (Rick), Douglas Giron and Bob Giron (Lisa); 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; sister-in-law, Marylee Hirst (John); cousin, Betty Boggio; also, several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg. All visitors are asked to please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Sarah’s funeral service and entombment will be private and a live stream of her service will be available on Thursday at 11 am by visiting Kepple-Graft Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
