Sheila (Quinn) Smith, 73, of Greensburg, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, of pancreatic cancer. She was a daughter of the late T. Barrett and Mary (Lynch) Quinn.
Sheila graduated from Mt. Vernon Seminary in Washington, D.C., and Briarcliff Junior College in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. Upon graduation, she accepted a job in the back office of the brokerage firm Moore, Leonard & Lynch. After a few years, she became a registered stockbroker when there were fewer than a thousand woman brokers in the United States. Sheila was an exceptional cook and loved entertaining family and friends. She was an avid golfer as well as an avid follower of professional sports. She was a member of the Rolling Rock Club and the Westmoreland Polo & Hunt Club.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Lynch Quinn. She is survived by her son, Marquis McElroy Smith III and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Tayman; a daughter, Catharine Lynch Smith; two granddaughters; and two sisters, Michaele Landback and Mary Mooney.
Family and friends will be received 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg.
A funeral mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 300 N. Main Street, Greensburg.
Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
