Thomas A. (Tom) "Sarge" Leone, 71 of Luxor passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital. He was born July 24, 1942 in Luxor a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Wilt) Leone.
Tom retired from Westmoreland County Parks Weights and Measures were he had been employed as an inspector. Previously, he worked for Latrobe Steel. He was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, Greensburg and was a US Army Veteran and National Guard Reservist. He held memberships with the Latrobe Eagles, the Elks Lodge and American Legion Post 515, Latrobe.
He enjoyed his trips to Florida to "freeload" off of his sister, Thelma.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah "Sally" (Myers) Leone, an infant brother, Joseph; a sister, Emma Ruth Boskey; mother and father in law, Myrtle and Samuel Myers; sister-in-law, Eileen Lancianese Leone Houser; brothers-in-law, Mike Boskey, Peter Maughan, Samuel Myers, Raymond Myers, Robert Myers and Albert Myers.
Tom is survived by his sons, Thomas A. "Toby" (Kelli) Leone, Jr.; Michael "Mike" (Carrie) Leone; adopted son, William "Bill"; grandchildren, William, Caitlin, Brandon, Tyler, Brent, Alli, Sarah, Mikey, Claire, and Spencer Leone and three great-grandchildren; his brother, George J. Leone and sisters, Alice Maughan and Thelma (William) Walthour; his special friend, Nancy Huskin, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his sisters-in-law, Judy Clawson and Liz Bossart.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg where services will be held Monday at 10:30 am with the Rev. Brian Chaffee officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery with military honors bestowed by VFW Post 33. Terence L. Graft, funeral director, entrusted with the arrangements.
