Thomas Merritt

Thomas L. Merritt, 77 of Greensburg, passed away, Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Walnut Ridge Memory Care.
He was born July 10, 1936 in McKeesport, PA, son of the late Emmitt C. and Dorothy (Ferree) Merritt.
Tom served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Hempfield Church of Christ in Greensburg.
He retired as a Custodian for Elliott Company.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Merritt, sisters, Linda Morris and husband, Moe, and Bonnie Borkowsky and husband, Rich; an uncle, Fred Overfield, Sr., and also numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honoring Tom's wishes there will be no public visitation.
A memorial service will be held at Hempfield Church of Christ on Thursday at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Hazelton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hempfield Church of Christ 144 Hugh Black Road Greensburg, PA 15601 or Alzheimer Disease Research Center 200 Lothrop Street Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
