Tillie Cavanaugh

Tillie E. Cavanaugh, 78 of Greensburg passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 on her fifty-ninth wedding anniversary. She passed at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 20, 1934 in Greensburg and was the daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Brown) Erickson.

Tillie was a Greensburg High School graduate in the class of 1952 and was voted most popular student in her class. She was secretary of the class and was a football queen, cheerleader, and May queen attendant. Tillie was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Greensburg and was a fabulous cook and a loving and dotting grandmother who was loved by all.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Erickson.

Surviving are her loving husband, Donald R. Cavanaugh, son, Casey Cavanaugh and wife, Cheri, daughter, Buffy Cavanaugh, grandchildren, Cory and Cade Cavanaugh, and a sister Vonnie Fleegle.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 4 - 8 pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.

Services will be held on Saturday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church at 10:30 am with Rev. Marleen Griffith-Stull officiating. Everyone is to go directly to the church.

Tillie's family wishes to thank Janet McAnany,Christina Panichella, Danielle Steeley, Maria Fink and Lisa Shannon for all their care and compassion during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 246 S. Main St. Greensburg, PA 15601.
