Violet M. Pahel, 85 of Greensburg, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Mercy Hospital.
She was born on February 9, 1930 in Mutual, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine (Gorinski) Walat.
Violet was a member of St. Paul Parish. She worked as a waitress at the Penn Albert where she met her husband.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. 'Buckets' Pahel; sisters, Katherine 'Kaye' Tiberio and Martha 'Marcy' Rosky; and brothers, Lee Walat and Clarence 'Clem' Walat.
Surviving are her children, Kathleen Bloom and husband, Ronald, Donald Pahel and fiancAC.e, Angie and daughter Makayla Kolatch, and Karen Washington and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Jessie Reckner and husband, Cliff, Cody Washington, Don Washington, and Cassandra Pahel, great granddaughter, Raelyn Reckner; sisters, Mary Hudak and Helen Garris, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Violet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.
Prayers of transfer will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30am followed by her funeral mass at 10am at St. Paul Parish 820 Carbon Road, Greensburg.
Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park.
