Virginia Lee (Reed) Zimmerman, 84 of Somerset, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021.
She was born December 7, 1936, the daughter of the late “Cowboy” Philip Jackson Reed and Eleanor Esther Blystone Reed.
Virginia was a lifelong Christian and a member of the Lutheran church. Charles Stanley (In Touch Ministries) suggests, “The longer we live as Christians, the more we should feel like we are strangers in this world”, and goes on to say that we yearn for that day when Jesus opens the door to heaven and welcomes us home. Virginia made a loving home wherever she lived, and now a very special room is already occupied, and heaven will be that much richer with her eternal love.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William R. Zimmerman; sons, William R. Zimmerman and Alan Zimmerman; granddaughter, Jennifer Daugherty; sisters, Phyllis Kovacs and Anna Eldridge; and grandparents, Walter & Susan Hebenthal and Harry & Mary Blystone.
She is survived by her children, Linda (George III) Kovacs of Berlin, PA, Denise (Bobby) Murphy of Mt Pleasant, Ed (Jamie) Zimmerman of Latrobe, Kim (Kirk) Johnson of McKinney, TX; sister Marlene Mull of Luxor. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7pm on Wednesday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg. Visitors are asked to social distance and to wear masks. A service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7pm.
