William Charles Guyker, Jr., 76 of Greensburg, passed away September 29, 2009 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital.
He was born August 21, 1933 in Donora, a Son of the late William C. Sr. and Mary (Kurylak) Guyker.
Bill was a professional electrical engineer, researcher and a graduate from MIT, class of 1959. He had held various engineering positions with Allegheny Power Service Corporation in Greensburg. His many achievements included research in engineering; construction pioneering developments of transmission tech., mining, power plant work, customer applications, multiple system control and comm. application, expertise in Acid Rain, Global Warming. He was a Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award with EPRI Environment Sector and the ( Fellow IEEE Power Group Award).
He had served in the US Army during the Korean war and was a member and past vesporman and senior warden of the Christ Episcopal Church in Greensburg.
He had taught at West Virginia Univ. and was a lector for the Univ. of Pittsburgh.
Bill was preceded in death besides his parents, by his step mother Josephine Guyker, a sister Nancy Fafalious and a brother Jack Guyker.
Surviving are his loving wife, Alice Jane (Burns) Guyker and a daughter, Patricia Lynn Kryszan and husband Dennis of West Chester, two grandchildren Abigail and Allison Kryszan , a sister Lynette Guyker of Az., four brothers Fred and wife Trudy of Az. Robert and wife Faith of Wash. DC, and Charles Guyker and wife Maria of Wash. DC , James Guyker and wife Ruth of New York , a brother in law Joseph Fafalious of Belle Vernon and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main St., Greensburg,
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 am in the Christ Episcopal Church , 145 North Main Street Greensburg with Rev. Larry Knotts officiating.

Interment will be in the St. Clair Cemetery.
Bill's family wishes memorial donations be made to the Christ Episcopal Church in his memory.
