William P. Hawk, 86 of Greensburg died Tuesday 1/7/2014 in the St. Anne Home.
He was born in Greensburg on 9/1/1927 and was the son of the late Luther and Bessie Pershing Hawk. He graduated from Greensburg High School class of 1945 and St. Francis College class of 1950. Bill served in the Navy during WWII and later joined the Army Reserves. He was a retired accountant with West Penn Power Company.
Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg, an active member of Greensburg Kiwanis Club and the Greensburg Sewage authority.
In his past time he enjoyed his golfing with friends.
Bill was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his son- in- law Cletus "Kip" Weber and two brothers James and Robert Hawk.
He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Miller Hawk and children David (Elizabeth) Hawk, Daniel (Janine) Hawk and Denise H Weber and his six grandchildren Aaron, Jennifer, Scott and Benjamin Hawk and Robbie and Amanda Weber. Also his brother Donald Hawk and sister Dorothy McKenny.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.
Services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM in the First Presbyterian Church, 300 South Main Street, Greensburg with Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park with military honors provided by American Legion Post 981.
