William "Hunter" Howell, 82, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his home. Hunter was born Aug. 29, 1930, in McCullough, the son of the late William G. and Ruby A. (Smith) Howell. He had served in the Army during the Korean War. Hunter was a retired carpenter by trade. He was a member of Jeannette American Legion and Jeannette Polish Club. Hunter loved his country music and was a Steelers and Pirates fan. Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Howell; daughter, Michele Lynn Howell; and sister, Betty Metzger. Surviving are his son, William "Greg" Howell and wife, Pauline, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Corey Howell and wife, Tina, of Latrobe, Daniel Howell, of Pittsburgh, Jesse and Amy Jo Howell, of Greensburg; a great-grandson, Hunter Howell; a sister, Marion Lewis and husband, Gene, of Jeannette; and a brother, George Howell, of Ringertown. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME (an authorized remembrance provider), 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Additional visitation will take place from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with services to begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Donna Haverisko officiating.
