William L. “Bill” Laboon, 67 of Greensburg, passed away peacefully in his home on July 25, 2024. He was born June 19, 1957 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Walter and Ann Laboon.
Bill graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in electrical engineering. After holding many engineering positions, he retired from Sensus Corp in 2022.
In his healthier days, he possessed a real estate license, working with his wife, as what we called her “unpaid assistant.” Bill was known for his sense of humor and love of bantering, in addition to his love of animals, namely his many pet dogs and cats over his lifetime. When the USS Laboon was commemorated in his cousin’s honor, he was extremely proud and was in attendance for the ceremony. He was Catholic by faith and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg.
Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Christine Laboon and by his sister, Louise Laboon (Len Amerise), his sisters in law, Michele (Brian) Pivar, Linda (Alan) Killmeyer and Carole Laboon, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Edward (Denise) and Walter (Corinne), his sister, Margaret (Lou) Kuhn and his wife’s parents, Augustine and Pauline Marasco.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 30 from 10 am until Noon in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 N. Main St. Greensburg, where a Funeral Liturgy will take place at Noon. Private entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences are welcome at www.kepplegraft.com
