William F. Mears, 77, of Wyano, passed away Monday August 8, 2022. Born April 15, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Mears. William was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a dedicated employee of Westinghouse for 47 years.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela (2020). He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Jo Pizzica and husband Brian of Murrysville; two grandchildren, Alaina Jo and Zane William; and several other family and friends who benefited from his warmth, generosity and gentle demeanor. William lived his entire life in Yukon and Wyano, and enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with family. He was an electrician in the Navy and, through that, became a skilled handyman. He could fix almost anything around his house and, more importantly, never hesitated when someone needed help. When he wasn’t hard at work with Westinghouse, Pam and Bill loved to go out to restaurants and take many vacations; especially to Williamsburg, VA and Siesta Key, FL. Bill always had a smile on his face and could join in on any conversation with some humor. His kind, unselfish nature will be his legacy of a life well lived. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
According to Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will be performed by KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, Inc. In honor of him, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org).
