William Wagner

September 17, 1913 — June 18, 2012

William L. Wagner, Jr., 98 of Rillton formerly of Greensburg, passed away, Monday June 18, 2012 in Excela Westmoreland Hospital.

He was born September 17, 1913 in Wilkinsburg and was the son of the late William L. Wagner Sr. and Marion Lovet Wagner and grew up in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Westminster College in 1936.

Bill had served in the US Navy during WWII and later in the Naval Reserve.

He was a member of Maplewood Presbyterian Church where he served as treasurer and deacon and the Masonic Lodge 1785 #45 F & AM , Scottish Rite and Syria Temple all of Pittsburgh. He also served as a treasurer with Boy Scouts of America and volunteered with Red Cross and a participant in WPP Bowling Leagues.

He spent his professional career at West Penn Power Co. retiring in 1979 as Chief Financial Officer.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Armour Wagner in 1994 and his sister, Jane Moon.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn, his son, William A. Wagner and wife, Debbie of Houtzdale, a daughter, Catharine S. Kuehne and husband Bruce of Columbia, MD, granddaughter, Valerie Kuehne of Brooklyn, NY, a stepson Timothy Yates and step grandson, Timothy Yates, Jr both of Worthington, OH.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home, (an authorized remembrance provider) 524 North Main Street Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 am with Pastor Larry Dunn officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maplewood Presbyterian Church, 108 Woodland Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
