William J. “Bill” Yancey, 80, of South Greensburg, died, Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He was born December 11, 1943, in Latrobe, a son of the late John Yancey and Marie Hollick Yancey. He was Catholic by faith. Bill was a Navy veteran and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Prior to retirement, Bill was a meter reader for the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County. In nice weather, he enjoyed riding around in his 1976 Triumph TR-6. Bill also enjoyed bowling, gardening and taking trips to Las Vegas. He was a member of South Greensburg American Legion, 981 and Greensburg VFW, Post 33. He was a twin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Ann Yeskey Yancey, his twin brother John and brother Thomas Yancey. Bill is survived by his son Todd Yancey (Tricia), his granddaughter, Pappy’s Angel Baby, Ella Yancey; cousin, Betty Heshizer; several nieces and nephews; also, his granddog, Sammy.
