Charles Anthony

Charles Edward Anthony, 89 of Greensburg, passed away from Parkinson's Disease on Friday, September 15, 2017.

He was born July 7, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Andrew and Winifred (Bonner) Anthony.

He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.  Charles was a proud graduate of New York State Maritime Academy at Fort Schuyler in 1949.

Prior to retirement in 1987, he worked as an engineer for Westinghouse. Charles worked on the first nuclear submarine, the Nautilus. He was very proud of his work and his family.

Charles also loved cooking, gardening, collecting antiques, and doing charity work through the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (McTigue) Anthony and his daughter-in-law, Sherry Lou Anthony.

Surviving are his sons, Charlie Anthony Jr. and Michael Anthony; daughter, Maggie Anthony and her husband, Paul Rymarz.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg.

Prayers of transfer will be held at 9 am on Friday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30am in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral 300 N. Main Street, Greensburg, PA.

Entombment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made at Newhaven Court at Lindwood Memory Care 100 Freedom Way, Greensburg, PA 15601.
