Frances Washabau

Frances E. (Gootz) Washabau, 91 of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

She was born February 4, 1927 in North Versailles,  the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Toms) Gootz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Drew W. Washabau and her brother, Charles Gootz.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Washabau and numerous nieces and nephews and two cousins.

Frances was a graduate of the Westmoreland Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She practiced nursing for a number of years, then joined her husband in starting their own business, Sentry Supply Plumbing and Hardware. They enjoyed a successful business until their retirement in their early 80s.

Fran was an avid reader, enjoying newspapers, books, and later in life, her kindle.

Honoring Fran's wishes there will be no public visitation and services will be private.
