John E. Grevish, 82 of Greensburg, passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born March 6, 1927 in Crabtree, a Son of the late Adam and Mary (Jhubas) Grevish. John was a graduate of Greensburg High School and Robert Morris College. He also was a Army veteran having served during World War II. Prior to retirement he worked 35 years for Brown-Boveri Inc. as a buyer in the purchasing Dept. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg, the Knights of Columbus Council # 1480 the South Greensburg American Legion post # 981, and he had received a Good Citizenship Award during his youth. John loved reading, gardening, playing his organ and plate collecting. In addition to his Parents, he was preceded in death by two Brothers Alex and Walter Grevish and a sister Ann Zera. Surviving are his loving wife, Frances Grevish , four Sisters, Helen Ferry and husband Anthony of Bradenville, Betty Guerry and husband Lou of Homer City, and Mary Gabonay, and Irene Boltz, both of California. and Several Nieces and Nephews. Family and friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, Inc. 524 North Main St. Greensburg. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 9:00 AM followed by a 9:30 AM funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral . Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
