John Osborne

January 23, 1929 — April 7, 2016

John Hampton Osborne left this life Thursday, April 7, 2016, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John was a native of Louisville, Ky., where he was born on Jan. 23, 1929, to Bernard Thomas Osborne and Ruth Wilding Hampton Osborne. John graduated from the University of Louisville in 1955 after duty in the Army during the Korean War, and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Upon graduation from U of L, John was employed by General Electric Co. for 32 years. John was preceded in death by his son, John H. Osborne Jr.; and his grandsons, Max Lacroix and Paul Bender. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marilyn; daughters, Laura Lacroix, of Island Pond, Vt., and Nancy Ann Bender, of Shippensburg, Pa.; and stepchildren, Carol White, of Bridgeport, Debra Nucci, of North Huntingdon, Kathleen Neal, of Gray, Tenn., and William Kennedy, of Pottstown, Pa.; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A gathering will be held on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, with a service to follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Cliff Hockensmith officiating. Private interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
