Joyce Thomas

Joyce R. Thomas, 84, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at her home.  She was born on July 8, 1934, in Fulton Run, a daughter of the late Clarence R. Thomas and Iva A. Bittner Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, Alfred T., Francis M., James L. and Bernard Thomas; also, a nephew, Rick Thomas.

Prior to retirement, Joyce worked 40 years as a pediatric aide at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.  She loved her family, especially her great nieces and nephews and they affectionately called her “Bitty”.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Elaine (Edgar) Bureau; and her nephew, Larry Thomas who lived with her; two sisters, Patricia Thomas Buckhannon and Kathie B. Thomas; nieces Karen (Daniel) Rittenour, Terry Claycomb, Deborah (Tom) Wright, Darlene (Randy) Stewart, Mary Maholic, and nephew, John (Kim) Masterpolito.

Honoring Joyce's wishes, no visitation and no service occurred. Yvonne, Larry, and family will hold the memory of Joyce as their blessing.
