Ron Gade

Thomas Ronald “Ron” Gade, 83, of Greensburg, passed away, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Donora on September 5, 1937, a son of late Thomas and Julia Freshnock Gozdonovich.  He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church.  He was a veteran and served with the Army, National Guard and Air Force Reserves.  Prior to retirement, he was Chief Financial Officer for Berry Metal Inc., Harmony, PA.  Ron was a graduate of Donora High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He was an active member of Laurel Highlands Model Airplane Club and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes all of his life.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing and was a member of the Hecla Sportsman Club. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers.  Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Syrko Gade; his sons, Robert Gade (Darla) of Kentucky and James Gade of Virginia; brothers, Donald (Emogene) of Donora and Eugene of Arizona; his grandson, Matthew Gade and granddaughter, Taylor Gade (fiancé, Daniel James); also, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10 am to 12 Noon at Kepple-Graft Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street, Greensburg.  Visitors are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.  Funeral services and entombment for Ron will be private.  A live stream of Ron’s funeral service will be available to view on Saturday at 12 Noon by going to the www.kepplegraft.com and clicking the live steam button on Ron’s obituary page or visiting https://my.gather.app/remember/ronald-gade.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
